Indira Gandhi was born in the infamous Nehru family, possibly destined to follow his father, Jawaharlal Nehru who was the first Prime Minister of the country, to become the first and only female Prime Minister of her country. As a member and later the president of the Indian National Congress, she was chosen as the candidate from her party, and won the elections in 1967, respectively. She got elected for a second time in 1971 and continued to work as the Prime Minister, her last two years being forcefully, until year 1977. In year 1980, with the new party she recently established, Indira ran for Prime Minister and won the elections for the third time to rule over the country until her death in 31 October 1984.
In our committee, the participants will be the members of the Cabinet of India between years 1980 and 1984. In her third term as the Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi and her cabinet worked tirelessly to make sure the peace was maintained and the country had a good international look as a relatively new country. Thus, the participants of the committee are encouraged to show the same effort and simulate the Cabinet of India succesfully.
